Tarot Post – Three of Swords

Three of Swords (Sorrow)

Three of SwordsThree of Swords (Revised) by G A Rosenberg

I didn’t want to know.
Separation hurts like hell
Still Healing Begins

None that came
and took the hand
of sorrow’s separation
Bleeding heart releases tears
Not only bloody down
the cheek of one’s soul
but burning holes
in the fabric of real
exposing chaos

What can come
spring forth from loins
of chaos manifestation
Lovely monsters coming through
not only ravishing
the whole of being
but with ecstatic
terrible beauty
exhorting night
–G A Rosenberg

The suit of swords represents thought, ideas, plans and conflicts. Threes deal with maturity, accomplishment and transmission of the energy involved. Thought separates one thing from another for the purposes of comparing and contrasting, breaking down and analyzing. What is that energy of separation in its maturity but that of sorrow and loss. When we find separation from those we loved and cherished we feel grief. When we find that we can no longer hold on to things we once innocently believed there is grief as well.  Knowledge replaces faith and we grow wiser but sometimes it hurts. In the long run the separation itself is illusion tho. Every relationship (whether it be with beliefs, places or people) still exists and we still learn from it. They have just moved into the past.

Astrological Correspondence – Saturn in Libra- Saturn is the planet of hard lessons and when in Libra, the focus of the lessons is our relationships and partnerships. When our relationships come under scrutiny, then we notice the flaws and what we need to learn from it becomes apparent. This can often result in learning the lesson and moving on or learning the lesson and rebuilding the relationship using what we have learned.

I Ching Correspondence – 33) Tun – Retreat

___ ____
___ ____

The Trigram of the Heavens is over the Trigram of the Mountain  – When you don’t feel like you can interact in a fair way, then there may come a time of retreat or separation from that with which you are engaging. This is necessary in order to preserve your energies and marshall your strength. This does not mean running away as much as retreating from an overwhelming situation.

When the three of swords comes up in a reading, it often means separating from something or someone the querent has loved and the ensuing grief that that provides. Heartache.  It may counsel some time needed to reflect and heal.

When the three of swords comes out reversed in a reading, it may mean a clinging to old hurts and separations and an inability to move on and put them in the past. It can show someone who has not yet accepted the ‘gift’ of insight the separation gives.

Quote of the Day – January 31 2013

“I now see how gifts like courage, compassion, and connection only work when they are exercised. Every day.”
― Brene Brown

flowing through
into me, into you
checking in
playing in unity

playing solo
feeling solo
where are you?
lonely, not really feeling
see the ceiling
that’s the floor

Snapping out
realizing my part
plugging in my heart
here we are
peace, watching the weather
emotions together
all will pass

— G A Rosenberg

Today I felt an enormous sense of disconnection all day. Sad, lonely, cut off form those around me. I couldn’t figure out quite what it was but gradually as the day wore on and I started to witness more and more it came clear. Funny, I have written about watching the emotional weather patterns pass through but actually having to practice it? Took some work

Quote of the Day – January 30 2013

“No human relation gives one possession in another—every two souls are absolutely different. In friendship or in love, the two side by side raise hands together to find what one cannot reach alone.”
― Kahlil Gibran

We all reflect the universe in different ways and so become teachers and students to each other. Each one of us can help any other to travel further along their path. Not only in harmony, some people teach us most by being a combination of qualities and opinions we just can’t stand and from experience I know what a good teacher that can be.
Not only do we learn from other people but from anything we encounter. A friend of mine said to me today that “There is nothing that is not GU-RU” and he defined the term GURU as “dispeller of darkness”. I rather like that. We light the way for each other.

Tarot Post – Three of Cups

Three of Cups  (Abundance)

G`Three of Cups (revised)

Trinity of friends

Powerful energy flows

Abundance ensues

Friends, knowing each others hearts and minds
We’ve known the hard parts
and have wandered through alone, together
But now is for fun and joy
This moment we have
each other’s company
overflowing, magical acceptance
that carries through

Cups deal with our emotional nature including love, both that as in a relationship between two (and rarely more) people and that of friends and companions. Threes deal with accomplishment, fulfilment and transmission of the energy. In this case the love that has been expressed overflows into a feeling of abundance. So often we think of our lives in terms of scarcity, what is missing and what we may never have. In reality, in this world there is abundance, having that which is needed. Being in the company of those we love, having a good time, we realize this abundance

Astrological Correspondence – Mercury in Cancer – Mercury and Cancer brings a very personal side out of our emotions. We seem in tune with not only what is on the emotional surface of those around us but the undercurrents as well. Mercury in Cancer carries the emotional memory of everything that happens in a relationship but since it is in tune with it, there is not so much the bitterness of the past, but an empathy as well. At times sensitive, these same undercurrents can occasionally throw off Mercury in Cancer and make it overly defensive

I Ching Correspondence – 28) TA Kao – Preponderance of the Great -This hexagram

___ ___
___ ___

This hexagram is comprised of the trigram Joy over that of Wood – There is an implication in it of a beam that is strong and heavy in the middle but weaker on the top and bottom. Now things are great but it is inherently unstable and can ‘crash through’ When we are enjoying ourselves with friends, we are in moments of joy and good times tho eventually our lives and the world come through. We can carry this feeling of enjoyment and the sensitivity to others and our situations  with us as we face whatever day to day crisis may break through.

In a reading, the three of cups can mean a time of enjoying companionship with friends and a time when we feel ourselves in tune with others. This card means quite often that we are allowing ourselves to feel loved and at peace and able to appreciate what comes our way.

Reversed the three of cups can mean that this feeling of camaraderie has disappeared or been blocked. There may be some disappointment or feeling of betrayal by a friend or that trust has been broken

Quote of the Day – January 29 2013

“This is what it is to be human: to see the essential existential futility of all action, all striving—and to act, to strive. This is what it is to be human: to reach forever beyond your grasp. This is what it is to be human: to live forever or die trying. This is what it is to be human: to perpetually ask the unanswerable questions, in the hope that the asking of them will somehow hasten the day when they will be answered. This is what it is to be human: to strive in the face of the certainty of failure.
This is what it is to be human: to persist.”
“For this is what it means to be human: to laugh at what another would call tragedy.”
— Spider and Jeanne Robinson, Stardance

I embrace my humanity and that of others. We’re the damnedest / blessedest creatures. We persist in perversity and we persist in glimmers of hope at the lowest moments. We persist sometimes when there seems to be no hope at all. Such beautiful ugliness in our shadow and sun.  We learn through tragedy as well and persist even then. We have so far to go to reach our potential but with such persistence we actually have a hope of getting there.
Blessings, G

Quote of the Day – January 28 2013

“Just as anyone who listens to the muse will hear, you can write out of your own intention or out of inspiration. There is such a thing. It comes up and talks. And those who have heard deeply the rhythms and hymns of the gods, can recite those hymns in such a way that the gods will be attracted.”
― Joseph Campbell

So it seems I won’t be talking about heroes tonight as much as what it means to state your intention in such a way that it can be heard by both our internal gods and the universe. Magicians write their intentions out as sigils and burn them thus planting a seed that will be watered by the force of their passion and how close it is in harmony with their inner beings. Others just put it forth in meditation.
I wanted to understand as many viewpoints as possible and wrote it. I built the intention and they came and shared with me their views. I listened and asked questions and came to understand with my heart their mythos and how it connected us. I opened myself and sometimes I saw with a clarity that I never believed I possessed.
I wanted to write and make art where I had very rarely drawn a straight line. I wrote poetry and wanted to illustrate what I wrote. Now three years and a couple of thousand pictures later, I find my art in demand..
Now I set forth an intention for self-honesty and inner harmony. Well, the universe has always been better to me than I ever would have asked. I am grateful.
Blessings, G
